SEASON IN REVIEW - Season of Streaks, Records, and Firsts
In their first game of the season, the Ballers matched-up against Roger Dougan's team, former BSFC standout.  At halftime, the Ballers would be up 2-0, but that would not be enough to hold a secure lead.  Bethel battled back to eventually tie the game at two.  The Ballers would find themselves victorious 4-3 on a last-minute goal by Adam Deniziak.  BSFC then found themselves playing against One Way Inn.  They again found themselves with a nice lead, this time 5-1, and again were not able to hold on for an easy win.  One Way Inn dominated most of the second half and tied the game at five-a-piece, but Jim Pilla would find net with just minutes remaining for a sloppy 6-5 victory.  BSFC finally played their first "team game" against the Gators as they absolutely crushed EGEFW, 10-1.  Adam Deniziak scored five goals and Josh Wolff added three assists to aide the Ballers.  The Baller would lose their first game in a very impressive game against Jumping Gymnast All-Star.  After being down by two for most of the game, the Ballers battled back to tie the game several times, but only to lose 7-6.  J. Duchini & Daughters, the #1 team at that point in time, forced the Ballers to commit several errors as a team and fall apart in the second half.  This collapse led to a 3-2 Duchini victory.  BSFC found the winning track again by defeating White Owls 5-3 in a late, sloppy comeback victory.  The "winning road" the Ballers were looking for was not found yet as they would face FFSP Crew.  FFSP Crew, consisting of former BSFC member Mike Widger, Glenn McKnight, Kim Presta, and Beth Putnam as well as All-American Pete Arghyrou, defeated the Ballers 5-4 as Pete scored four straight goals.  Despite the loss, Adam Deniziak broke the single season scoring record by scoring two goals and knocking his goal total up to 18.  The winning road would finally be found as the Ballers defeated the winless Eagles 4-1 in a rematch of a game played earlier in the season that ended up not counting due to illegal players on the Eagles team.  In this game, Deniziak would break yet another single season record.  This time he set the record for most points in a season after recording a goal and an assist.  BSFC would face a new and improved Bethel in their ninth game of the season.  Despite the new and impressive talent on the Bethel side, the Ballers played to their potential and blanked Bethel 3-0.  Adam Deniziak recorded his fifth hat trick of the season as he scored the only three goals of the game.  In their season finale against the Pumas, BSFC played without Adam Deniziak, the league leader in goals, and Josh Wolff, the team leader in assists.  After coming out firing and finding themselves with an impressive 3-1 lead, the Ballers fell apart and allowed the Pumas to score five straight goals.  The Pumas won this game 6-3.  Josh Wolff and Adam Deniziak would return for the quarterfinals as the Ballers found themselves down 5-2 against the FFSP Crew.  This defecit did not phase the Ballers as they scored six straight goals to comeback and win 8-5.  Josh Wolff set the single season record for assists in this game by recording four assists and Mike Chapman tied a career high for most goals in a game by recording four goals, including the winning goal.  The semifinal matchup against J. Duchini & Daughters would not need a comeback as the Ballers easily handled Duchini and won 3-1 to advance to the Bundesliga Rec League Finals against the still undefeated Pumas, fresh off a 9-2 semifinal defeat of Jumping Gymnast All-Star.  The Ballers would not be able to make it three victories against teams that defeated them during the regular season as BSFC went flat all-around and was shutout 6-0 by the undefeated Bundesliga Rec League Champion, Pumas.
